Block-modular boiler houses using this type of fuel are the simplest and most effective technical solution where there is no access to main natural gas.

It is necessary to equip a storage facility for liquefied gas reserves. This can be an underground or above-ground gas tank, or a place to store a sufficient supply of gas cylinders. When installing a gas tank, strict requirements are imposed on installation, location, and distance to other objects. Therefore, the issue of storing fuel reserves should be carefully considered at the design stage.

Liquefied propane-butane is heavier than air, so high-quality ventilation in the room is necessary. Liquefied propane-butane is heavier than air, so LPG boiler systems cannot be located in the basements of permanent buildings. Subject to compliance with technical requirements, it is possible to agree on placement on the ground floors if there are windows with an area of at least 1 m²

Purchase of additional equipment. The key property of liquefied gas is the transition to a liquid state at relatively low temperatures (at normal pressure of propane - 42 ºС, butane - about ºС). To burn a propane-butane mixture in boilers, it is necessary to transfer it from the liquid phase to the gaseous phase. To do this, an evaporator/evaporator unit is included in the LPG heating system, which reduces the pressure and increases the temperature to bring the fuel into a gaseous state. When storing supplies in gas tanks, the system will also need to be equipped with a special pump to supply fuel to the evaporator.

The equipment of the block-modular boiler house itself is almost identical to the natural gas boiler house. Boilers and burners of the same technical specifications are used.

To use a propane-butane mixture as a backup fuel, you don’t even need to install combined dual-fuel burners - just purchase a special nozzle of a smaller diameter for LPG. Often, these nozzles come directly with the main equipment.

Therefore, in most cases, liquefied gas is the optimal backup fuel for BMKs running on natural gas. This is also the most economical temporary solution if it is subsequently expected that it will be possible to connect the boiler room to the main overpass and convert it to natural gas.
